Progressing towards paint

It's been a very hot summer under our cover but progress is visible. The first coat of primer is on and one of the new port lights arrived so that the cutouts could be made all around. The new side window's glass is awaiting the inside laminate to be trimmed away and another order of lumber is awaiting pick up for the nav/galley area to be started. A soft spot in the starboard deck has been repaired (holes were drilled for the teak planking but screws were never inserted, allowing water to get into the core), and a lot of the interior teak has been stripped and sanded.

Ending the first years work the goal was to get the outside waterproof and that will be the case before winter.

The shrink wrap will need to be replaced before winter sets in. This cover has lasted the year but the frame is week and the cover will not last the winter. We had not planned to do much of anything inside this year, however the walls needed to be laminated before the windows were set so that the laminate could be cut. Its time to start planing the wiring inside and how and where we want the helms controls mounted. The decision has been made to get rid of the box these boats use to put the gauges in and use something more modern for the smaller components we have now 32 years later.
